Living in Orange County, California means having access to an endless list of cafes, but finding a good matcha can still feel like a mission. After years of searching, I’ve developed a small rotation of places I always return to when I’m craving a smooth, creamy matcha. These three spots serve some of the best matcha in the OC.

Taty’s Specialty Coffee & Tea

If you’re just getting started on your matcha journey, Taty’s is the place to start. This Vietnamese coffee and tea shop has become a favorite among locals, offering drinks that combine traditional flavors with a modern cafe aesthetic. The matcha menu alone has several standouts, from a classic matcha latte to their banana matcha. 

Tucked into a plaza in Irvine, Krisp is a small cafe that focuses on simple ingredients and quality drinks. Beyond a classic matcha, they offer different options like strawberry, blueberry, or pandan matcha. The strawberry matcha is especially popular because it layers sweet fruit with the earthy matcha flavor, making it feel almost like dessert in a cup. This spot is huge with tons of spots to charge your phone, making it the perfect place to study.

SIP Coffee and Goods

Sip is hands down my favorite matcha spot in Orange County.Their matcha is smooth, creamy, and well-balanced between the sweetness and the tea’s earthy flavor, which is allowed to shine. I usually order an iced matcha latte with oat milk here. Out of all the  matcha spots I’ve tried, I always come back to Sip!
